Chen’s devotion in music education has inspired countless students over 25 years. Wintin holds a Master’s Degree in Elementary Music and Dance Pedagogy from The Carl Orff-Institute at Mozarteum University (Salzburg, Austria).
She received a Master’s of Music degree from University of Memphis (Tennessee, USA); and completed her B.Ed. degree (early childhood education) from National Taiwan Normal University.
In group music lessons, Wintin facilitates young children’s musical learning through playful games. Children’s development of musical skill, appreciation and creativity is best in a natural and joyful environment. The natural rhythms children create in the Music for Young Children curriculum rhymes, chants and games will prepare them for learning any musical instrument, even for RCM examinations.
In past years, Wintin has conducted Christmas Carols with S.F.U. Children’s Choir and organized Young Children Musical Flash Mobs at Simon Fraser University. These fun and joyful group music activities encourage young children’s self-confidence and creativity. She speaks fluent English and Mandarin Chinese.
