I am a dedicated and passionate piano teacher with nearly 15 years of experience. I graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Music degree (BMus), and also held a piano pedagogy certificate (VCCM) at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. In the early years of my musical education, I studied with Mrs. Yvette Rowledge and Mr. Leslie Janos at the Langley Community Music School. In the University of Victoria, I studied with Dr. Bruce Vogt and Dr. Jamie Syer.
My own musical journey can be traced back as early as when I was 4 years old. As time grows, I started to show deep interest in classical piano, and that was when I decided to pursue in music, and finally, teaching music. This is why not only for piano, I actively participated in numerous music activities throughout my student years, including concert band, jazz band, and choirs. These experiences exposed me to a wide range of musical genres and helped shape my versatile approach to teaching.
Since 2009, I have been actively involved in the field of music education, providing private piano, theory, and flute lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. I believe in fostering a love for music while nurturing each student’s unique talents and abilities. I wish to empower students to reach their full potential through patient and support.
My dedication to professional development continues as I regularly attend music conferences, workshops, and masterclasses to stay on top of all things and musical trends. I believe in the importance of lifelong learning and consistently strive to enhance my own skills to benefit the students. Through the years I have demonstrated my professionalism as a performer and educator, inspiring countless students to embark on their own musical journeys.
