Heather Rees

Voice, Piano, Theory, Children Group Classes


Heather has always loved music, she began studying piano at the age of six and has always taken a strong interest in exploring music and inspiring others to love music as much as her. Heather went on to study music at the Vancouver Academy of Music, and Abingdon School for singers in Oxford, England. She has had the opportunity to work with Catherine Wyn Rogers, Susan McCulloch, David Meek, Larissa Divacova, Ben Hepner, and Joslin Romphf – Dennis.

Heather’s most recent roles include First Lady and Understudy for Second Lady from Mozart’s Magic Flute and has taken part in many Opera Scenes at Vancouver Academy of Music. Heather has had the opportunity to sing in 2 showcase concerts with Fazioli Richmond. Heather was featured on CBC radio. Recently Heather as sung in the Colours of Music concert. She is planning an audition tour through North America, the UK and Europe as well as multiple local concerts.

Heather was born and raised in Alberta. Heather holds a Bachelor of Music from Vancouver Academy of Music and an Artist diploma from Abbingdon School of Music. She currently resides in Vancouver, BC where she teaches voice to children of all ages and skill levels. She enjoys working with young singers to develop proper vocal technique and challenging them to listen, think, and explore different types of music on a regular basis. As part of Heather’s work with students she had the pleasure of adjudicating many festivals.
